What the “Renovate – Rent” programme is
“Ανακαινίζω – Νοικιάζω” (Renovate – Rent) is a Greek state-subsidy programme that pays for most of the cost of renovating a home that currently sits empty, on the condition that the owner then puts it back on the long-term rental market. The state covers up to 95% of the eligible works, so the renovation that would normally be unaffordable for a vacant property suddenly makes financial sense. It is aimed squarely at people who own a flat or house that has been standing unused — including owners of an old family home or a holiday property who would like to bring it back into use rather than let it deteriorate. Which works are eligible
