    Restore the water supply slowly, checking all connections for drips before the system comes to full pressure. Once flow is confirmed leak-free, allow the hot-water cylinder to reach its normal operating temperature (60 °C minimum for anti-Legionella). Run the hot outlet for two to three minutes to stabilise, then measure the mixed-outlet temperature with a calibrated thermometer — not just a hand test. Adjust the valve's tamper-resistant cap (usually a slotted adjuster under a plastic cover) until the outlet reads your target temperature. For baths in properties with young children or elderly guests, 44 °C is the recommended maximum; 38–43 °C suits showers.

    Replace any access covers, mark the valve clearly with a label showing the set temperature and the date of installation, and note both in the property's maintenance log. TMV2 valves should be tested annually: close the cold-side isolator briefly and confirm that hot flow stops within the specified shut-off time (the valve fails safe rather than delivering scalding water).
